The PRS SE series stands for the iconic PRS look, reliable build quality and versatile sounds at an attractive price-performance ratio. The SE family originated in 2000, when PRS began developing more affordable versions of their popular models. The idea came from Carlos Santana, who encouraged Paul Reed Smith to make high-quality PRS guitars accessible to beginners. The name SE stands for “Student Edition” – however, the instruments far exceed the expectations of their price range.
The guitars of the PRS SE series are manufactured in South Korea or Indonesia. To ensure the high quality standard, every instrument is finally inspected and set up at the PRS US factory before shipment.
The SE series offers an exceptionally wide variety of models: from single- and double-cut guitars to semi-hollow and hollowbody models, as well as signature and special variants, there is something for almost every playing style.
